Creating meetings that matter
11-13 September, 2023 | Tórshavn, Faroe Islands
The unspoiled, unexplored destination of Faroe Islands offers a plethora of activities and attractions, inspired by the rich culture and unique landscapes. You can find below only some of the must do's, must visit places, and public transportation information. If you plan to explore the destination further, you can get more travel information and tips by the Visit Faroe Islands.
A boat trip with the old wooden vessel Norðlýsið is one of the top things to do after conference hours. Nature continues to surprise people during these trips, while puffins are skimming the waves, seals are basking on cliffs and a school of whales follow the vessel closely.
Wander in the maze of lanes in the old town of Tórshavn, Tinganes, between the little houses, alleys, and rocky paths. The government has its administration in the red buildings and families live in the black houses with grass roofs.
Kirkjubø is the ancient cultural and religious center of the Faroe Islands. Only 15 minutes by bus from Tórshavn, guests will relive the proud history of the Faroe Islands in amazingly preserved buildings, inhabited by the welcoming Patursson family, who has lived there for generations. Feel the history of these walls, while you enjoy a traditional dinner with organic lamb meat from the farm in the famous Roykstova in the evening.
Explore the taste of the Faroe Islands in one of our excellent restaurants. In the old town you will find the Restaurant Ræst, another restaurant in the KOKS family, concentrating on using and showcasing Faroese traditions of fermentation paired and combined with modern & multicultural gastronomic trends. By virtue of international ingredients, cultural techniques and old methods of cooking, Head Chef Sebastian Jiménez and the team are focusing on enhancing the craft of fermentation through his Mexican roots. You will find authenticity and innovation melded together under one turf roof.
A scenic road trip up north to the charming and tiny village of Gjógv opens possibilities for an active day in the mountains, on the sea or simply by being a part of the village life. Here you can go on a treasure hunt or have other teambuilding activities.
