The meetings industry is in a state of change, and this also provides an opportunity to reinvent the meaning and purpose of meetings. However, to do so, we need to deeply understand and experience the need for such innovation. In this session, you will get an overview of the current social changes, you will be inspired to try something new, and you will learn what agile collaboration means by conducting short social experiments.

Event Design Workshop

  • Moderator: Prof Dr Lukas Zenk - Deputy Head for Research, Danube University Krems

Designing.Events is a research-based method to easily design innovative events, conferences and meetings that participants really want.

We conducted an applied research project that lasted over three years to analyse the needs and expectations of event participants. Based on our research, we developed a new method that takes into account why people attend an event. Depending on their expectations, the event design needs specific and customized solutions. We identified the most important design dimensions and solutions for creating successful meetings.

Over the last years, we inspired organizers to create innovative meetings all over the world. In this workshop, we will demonstrate for the first time our recently developed virtual Event Cards that cover all our research findings in an online platform. Take your laptop with you to collaboratively design a new event with other attendees on site. You will learn in a playful way how to create events in your team or with your customers that rock.
